Graflio vs Pic Copilot for Amazon Listing Images
Different jobs. Pic Copilot, launched by Alibaba International in the US on 5 December 2024, is built around models, backgrounds and scenes, and its virtual try-on covers more than 160 AI models across four skin tones. Graflio imports an ASIN, derives the argument from the listing and its reviews, and outputs editable layers with pixel-anchored callouts. Sell apparel or need volume background work: Pic Copilot. Need an image that explains a dimension, a compatibility or a difference: Graflio. Note that Pic Copilot's public pricing page does not render its paid tier prices as of August 2026.
Pic Copilot dresses your product; Graflio argues for it. Alibaba International's tool is built around models, scenes and backgrounds, and it is very good at those. Graflio starts from an ASIN, reads the listing and its reviews, and produces callout images that make a case. If you sell apparel, Pic Copilot is probably the better buy. If your images have to explain a spec, a size or a difference, it is not.
Two tools, two starting points
Alibaba International launched Pic Copilot in the United States on 5 December 2024, positioning it as an AI design tool for SMEs with, in the company's own words, twelve one-click AI design tools: background swapping, image enhancement, virtual try-on, shadow generation, image translation and ad generation among them. Alibaba says the underlying model has 250 million parameters and was trained across 240 product categories using an annotation method built around sales metrics rather than aesthetics.
Graflio starts one step earlier. You paste an ASIN or a listing URL. It reads the title, bullets, price, rating, review text and gallery, pulls the category best sellers around it, and produces a brief before any image exists: pain points tagged by whether they came from your reviews or a competitor's, USPs grounded in that text, and a plan for what each of six or seven images should say. Then it renders the set, and each image opens in a layer editor.
That difference decides almost everything below. Pic Copilot answers "what should this photo look like". Graflio answers "what should this image say".
Head to head
| Graflio | Pic Copilot | |
|---|---|---|
| You start with | An ASIN or listing URL | A product photo |
| Copy on the image comes from | Listing, reviews, competitor set | You, or a template |
| Models on a garment | Not offered | 160+ AI models, four skin tones, virtual try-on |
| Background and shadow work | Adequate | Core strength, one-click |
| Editing a headline later | Retype the text layer | Regenerate or re-edit the image |
| Pixel-anchored callouts | Yes, anchored to coordinates | No |
| Multilingual output | Re-typeset per locale | AI image translation |
| Published pricing | €10 free credits, then €49.99 / €199.99 / €499.99 a month | Paid tiers not rendered on the public pricing page |
Two rows there go against us plainly. Pic Copilot beats Graflio outright on models and on background work, and it is not close on either.
Where Pic Copilot is simply better
Virtual try-on is the flagship, and the numbers Alibaba published are not small: during its Black Friday 2024 trial the try-on feature produced over 80,000 model images for more than 10,000 merchants, and 35,000 users made over 200,000 pieces of content in total. The model library covers more than 160 models across four skin tones, and you can upload your own person as a model. Alibaba reported a double-digit average lift in click-through rate in its own testing, which is a vendor claim on vendor data, but the direction is credible for apparel.
If you sell clothing or shoes, the most valuable listing image is a human wearing the thing, and paying a studio per colourway is where apparel budgets die. Graflio does not generate models at all: we composite your real product photograph and build the argument around it. On a T-shirt in eleven colours that is the wrong architecture, and Pic Copilot's is the right one.
Background removal, colour change, AI shadows and upscaling are also Pic Copilot's home ground. If the job is 400 supplier photos that need cutting out cleanly, buy the tool that does that for a few dollars a month.
What is published, and what is not
Pic Copilot's pricing page, checked in August 2026, lists three tiers — Free, Pro and Pro+ — and renders the paid ones without a price. That is not a criticism of the product, but it does mean any figure you read elsewhere is second-hand. Third-party reviews in July 2026 report roughly $7.99 a month for Pro and around $14.90 for Pro+, with credits called Pcoins at roughly 500 and 2,000 a month respectively, and note that Pcoins expire monthly rather than rolling over. Alibaba does publish one hard number: new US SMEs get 50 free credits, described as enough to refresh materials for up to 15 products. Verify the checkout price in the app before you plan around it.
Graflio publishes everything. €10 of credits on signup with no card. Plans at €49.99, €199.99 and €499.99 a month for 150, 875 and 2,850 credits, which works out at roughly €0.33, €0.23 and €0.18 per credit. Research costs 0.1 credit; a finished image costs one to three credits depending on the model. A six-image set is normally €2 to €6 of credits.
Where Graflio wins
- Amazon URL import: the argument is derived from your listing and its reviews, not typed by you
- Pixel-anchored callouts that keep pointing at the actual seam, port or seal after an edit
- Layered output, so a headline, a price or a claim can be changed without regenerating
- Brand kit carried across a whole set and across SKUs
- Published, per-action pricing you can model before you sign up
Where Pic Copilot wins
- Apparel: virtual try-on with 160+ models is a category Graflio does not enter
- Background removal, colour change and AI shadows at volume
- Cheaper at the entry tier, on the prices third parties report
- Free allowance of 50 credits for new US SMEs
- Trained on 240 product categories with sales-metric annotation, which shows in scene plausibility
The data-residency question nobody asks
Pic Copilot is an Alibaba International product. For EU and US sellers uploading unreleased product photography, where that imagery is processed and stored is a legitimate procurement question, and one to put to the vendor directly rather than infer from a comparison page. If your legal team has a view on that, get it before the catalogue upload rather than after.
How to decide
- Is your category apparel, footwear or worn accessories? Buy Pic Copilot. Try-on is worth more than anything on our side of the table.
- Is your main cost cutting out and relighting hundreds of supplier photos? Buy Pic Copilot, and do it on the entry tier.
- Do your images need to explain a dimension, a compatibility, a material or a difference from a competitor? That is a callout job, and a scene generator will not do it.
- Will you translate the set into German, French, Italian or Spanish? Ask both tools how text is re-typeset, not just translated. Line lengths grow 15% to 30% and a layout that was not built to absorb that breaks.
- Do you expect to edit after launch? If yes, insist on layers. Everything else can be lived with.
Plenty of apparel sellers should run both: Pic Copilot for the on-model shots, Graflio for the size chart, the fabric callouts and the care instructions. They are not really the same purchase.
Common questions
Is Pic Copilot free?
There is a free tier, and Alibaba gives newly registered US SMEs 50 free credits, which it describes as enough to refresh marketing materials for up to 15 products. Beyond that you need a paid plan. As of August 2026 the public pricing page shows the paid tiers without prices, so check the amount at checkout inside the app.
Does Pic Copilot import from an Amazon URL?
No tool in this category other than Graflio does. Pic Copilot works from images you upload. That means the words on your images are whatever you or a template decide, rather than something derived from your reviews and the listings you compete with.
Which one is better for apparel?
Pic Copilot, clearly. Its virtual try-on covers more than 160 AI models across four skin tones and supports shoes as well as clothing, and Graflio does not generate models at all. Use Graflio alongside it for the sizing chart and fabric callouts if you want those to come out of the review data.
Can I edit the text on a finished image in either tool?
In Graflio, yes: every image opens as layers and a headline is a text object you retype. Pic Copilot does not publish a layered editing model, so plan on treating its output as a finished raster file and confirm this in the app before you commit a catalogue to it.
Are Pic Copilot's click-through claims independent?
No. The double-digit CTR improvement is Alibaba's own figure from its own testing, as is the reported $200 average saving per user during the Black Friday trial. Treat it as a vendor claim. The same standard applies to anything we publish about ourselves.
