Taking a Graflio Image Set into Canva
Graflio exports 2160px PNG and SVG; Canva accepts SVG uploads up to 100 MB. The trip is worth making when you need something Canva is better at — social and ad variants, a deck, print, a team review with comments. It is not worth making to edit the infographic itself, because an imported SVG lands in Canva as a graphic you can resize, rotate and recolour, not as editable text and paths.
There is a version of this page that argues you should never leave Graflio. It would be wrong. Canva is a better design tool than any listing-image generator, and there are five or six specific jobs where taking the finished set into Canva is obviously right. There are also jobs where it costs you an hour and some resolution for nothing. The difference is whether you are changing the artwork or reusing it, and the import format decides which one is even possible.
What actually crosses the boundary
The studio exports three things: a PNG at 2160×2160, an SVG at the same size with text written as live text elements and the webfont stylesheet embedded, and a layered PSD. Canva takes the first two. Canva accepts SVG uploads up to 100 MB, and PNG obviously. The PSD is not a Canva format.
| SVG into Canva | PNG into Canva | |
|---|---|---|
| Scales without softening | Yes | Down only |
| Retype the headline | No | No |
| Recolour solid fills | Yes | No |
| Edit individual paths | No | No |
| Font resolves reliably | Depends on the account | Baked in |
| Crop, mask, place in a layout | Yes | Yes |
| Upload ceiling | 100 MB | Standard image limits |
The row that surprises people is the third one from the top. Canva's handling of an uploaded SVG is closer to a graphic than to an editable document: you can resize, rotate, reposition and recolour solid fills, but you cannot modify individual vector paths or ungroup the thing into components. So the vector import buys you scale and colour, not structure. Plan accordingly.
The last 10%, and what it actually consists of
Five jobs justify the round trip. Format variants: the same artwork resized into ad units, a story frame, a Shopify banner or an email header, which Canva does faster than rebuilding each one. Decks and one-pagers: wholesale sell sheets, retailer pitches, investor slides, where the infographic is one element in a longer document. Print: inserts, thank-you cards, trade-show panels, with bleed and CMYK handled by a tool that knows about them. Team review: comments on a design, shared folders, approvals, which no listing-image tool does well. Brand furniture: dropping the set inside an existing Canva brand template so it matches material your team made last year.
What is not on that list is editing the listing images. If the headline is wrong, the callout points at the wrong seam, or the German copy overflows, the fix belongs upstream in the studio, where text is still text and callouts are still anchored to coordinates on the product photo. Fixing it in Canva means deleting the imported graphic and rebuilding the element by hand, which is the expensive way to change one word.
Worth the trip to Canva
- Reformatting one design into six sizes
- Anything that leaves Amazon: social, ads, print, decks
- Team comments and approval flows
- Matching an existing Canva brand template
- Adding a photo, a QR code or a logo lockup you already keep in Canva
Do it in the studio instead
- Changing any wording, in any language
- Moving a callout so it points correctly
- Applying the brand kit across a whole set
- Anything that must stay consistent across 20 SKUs
- Re-exporting at full 2160px for Seller Central
A workflow that does not quietly lose resolution
Amazon needs at least 1000 pixels on the longest side for zoom to engage on the listing and recommends 1600 or more, and the studio's exports are 2160px, so there is headroom — but only if you do not spend it. Three habits protect it. Upload the SVG or the full-size PNG rather than a screenshot or a downloaded thumbnail. Set the Canva document to a square 1:1 at 2000px or more when the output is a gallery image, rather than dropping the artwork into whatever canvas was already open. And export at the best quality your plan allows: free Canva accounts export PNG, JPG and PDF, while SVG export is a Pro feature.
On plans and price: third-party trackers put Canva Pro at $18 a month or $144 a year and Business at $25 per user per month in August 2026, and Canva prices regionally, so check your own currency before budgeting. Guidance on whether SVG upload requires Pro is genuinely contradictory across sources — some say the free plan accepts SVG uploads, some say it does not. Test it on your account before you plan a workflow around it.
When Canva should be the whole tool, not the last step
If you have a designer who already lives in Canva, an established visual language and fewer than about five SKUs, the honest answer is that you may not need a second tool at all. Canva will do the layout, and the value a listing-image system adds — reading the listing and its reviews, deciding what six images should argue, holding a brand system across a catalogue — is value you already have in a person. Conversely, if you have thirty SKUs and no designer, the trip to Canva should be rare: every image you finish by hand is an image that has to be re-finished by hand the next time a spec changes.
The general rule: use the studio for anything that has to stay editable and consistent, and use Canva for anything that has to leave Amazon. Sellers who reverse those two spend their time in the wrong tool and usually notice at the third revision.
Common questions
Can I import a Graflio image into Canva?
Yes, as SVG or as the 2160px PNG, through Canva's Uploads panel. Canva accepts SVG files up to 100 MB.
Will the text be editable in Canva?
Assume not. An uploaded SVG behaves as a graphic: resize, rotate, reposition and recolour solid fills, but no retyping and no path-level editing.
Which format should I upload?
SVG when you need to scale up or recolour, PNG when you want the design to look exactly as it did in the studio regardless of what fonts Canva can resolve.
Can I go the other way, Canva into Graflio?
Not as an editable document. You can bring a Canva-exported image in as a picture, but the studio's editable objects come from generation, not from import.
Does Canva know Amazon's image rules?
No, and that is the main risk of finishing there. Pure white at RGB 255,255,255 on the main image, roughly 85% frame fill, no text, logo or prop, at least 1000 pixels on the long side with 1600 or more recommended: Canva will happily let you break all four.
