Booth AI Alternative: What to Use Now It Is Gone

The short answer

Booth AI is no longer available. As of 13 August 2026 booth.ai redirects to a domain listing on the marketplace atom.com, and Y Combinator's directory marks the Winter 2023 company as acquired. Replace it by job: a photography-first generator for brand and campaign scenes, Amazon's free AI Creative Studio for ad creative, and Graflio for detail-page gallery images that carry researched claims in an editable, layered file.

Booth AI is gone. As of 13 August 2026, booth.ai and www.booth.ai redirect to a domain listing on the marketplace atom.com, and Y Combinator's directory marks the company, from its Winter 2023 batch, as acquired. So the honest version of this page is not "here is why we are better than Booth AI" — it is what Booth did, what has actually replaced it, and how to pick a replacement without ending up stranded a second time.

What happened, as far as anyone publishes it

Booth AI was founded in 2022 by Nick Locascio and Ian Baldwin in San Francisco and went through Y Combinator's Winter 2023 batch with a team of three. Its product generated lifestyle product photography: you gave it a reference image of the product and a text prompt describing the scene, and it returned photographic-looking images without a studio, a shoot or a physical sample.

Neither the company nor Y Combinator publishes a shutdown date. Third-party tool trackers report one in mid-2024 and disagree with each other about it, giving 26 July 2024 and 5 August 2024. What can be checked directly today is simpler: the domain no longer serves the product, and the YC directory entry says acquired. Treat any site still listing Booth AI's plans and prices as stale.

If you had images inside Booth AI and never downloaded them, they are almost certainly not recoverable. That is the part worth carrying into whatever you choose next.

Why people still search for a Booth AI alternative

Because the job it did is real and did not go away: getting product images that look like they were photographed in a place, without paying for a shoot. Booth AI was aimed squarely at brand and catalogue imagery — the hero shot on a marble counter, the bag on a café table.

That is not quite the same job as an Amazon gallery. An Amazon gallery image usually has to argue something: a benefit, a measurement, a comparison, an objection answered before it is raised. A beautiful lifestyle render is one of six slots, not all six. Sellers arriving here from Booth AI usually need both things, and they are different purchases.

Match the replacement to the job

If you wanted campaign and catalogue photography, replace Booth AI with a photography-first generator or with actual photography. Scene composition, art direction and material fidelity are what those tools optimise for, and it is not what we optimise for. AI renders are still weakest on materials — leather, brushed metal, knitwear, stone — so check those closely whichever tool you pick.

If you wanted ad creative, look at Amazon's own AI Creative Studio first. It generates lifestyle scenes, video and audio ads at no cost beyond an Amazon Ads account, and assets land directly in the Ads console. Paying anyone for a lifestyle background you could have generated free inside the console is money wasted.

If you wanted gallery images that sell the product, that is our patch. Graflio starts from an ASIN or listing URL, reads the live listing, its reviews and the category best sellers, and writes a visible brief before rendering: pain points marked by whether they came from your reviews or a competitor's, USPs grounded in that data, and an image plan. Your real product photograph is composited into the scenes rather than a lookalike being generated, and every image opens in a layer studio where headlines are text and callouts stay anchored to coordinates on the product.

Booth AI's pre-shutdown pricing is quoted inconsistently across review sites — weekly, monthly and lifetime figures that do not reconcile — so we have not repeated a number we cannot source to Booth itself.

Where Graflio wins

  • It exists, and your files export as PNG, SVG or PSD to keep.
  • The brief comes from reviews and competitor listings, not from your prompt.
  • Callouts anchored to pixels on the product; dimension diagrams and comparison grids.
  • Your real product photo is composited rather than re-imagined.
  • Output in Spanish, English, German, French and Italian for the EU marketplaces.

Where a photography tool wins

  • Pure brand and campaign imagery: scenes, moods, art direction. That was Booth's strength and it is not ours.
  • Fine manual control of composition, lens and lighting, which we do not expose.
  • Free, if Amazon's Creative Studio covers the scene you need.
  • Pre-launch products: with no live listing and no reviews, our research pass has little to read.
  • Real photography still beats every generator on materials that catch people out.

How to not get stranded twice

Booth AI's closure is a reminder that the asset is the file, not the account. Three habits make the next migration cheap.

  1. Download everything you ship, at full resolution, the day you ship it. A vendor's gallery is not a backup.
  2. Prefer tools that export something layered. A flat JPEG is a dead end; a PSD or SVG can be reopened in software you already own if the vendor disappears.
  3. Keep the source product photographs separate. Every tool in this category starts from them, so they are the part that must survive.

Which to pick now

Choose a photography-first generator if what you lost with Booth AI was lifestyle scenes for a brand, a website or a lookbook, and the images do not need to argue anything.

Choose Amazon AI Creative Studio if the images are for Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display or DSP. Free is the right price for ad creative and the assets go straight into the campaign.

Choose Graflio if the images are gallery slots two to seven on a detail page and you want them to carry claims that trace back to your reviews and your competitors, in an editable file.

Whatever you pick, the main image rules do not move: a real photograph of the product on pure white (RGB 255,255,255), filling roughly 85% of the frame, at least 1,000 px on the longest side to trigger zoom, with 1,600 px or more recommended, and no text, logos or props. Generated heroes get listings suppressed. The lifestyle images guide covers where a render belongs and where it does not.

Common questions

Is Booth AI still available?

No. As of 13 August 2026 booth.ai and www.booth.ai redirect to a domain listing on the marketplace atom.com, and Y Combinator's company directory marks Booth AI, a Winter 2023 company, as acquired. Any pricing page or review still describing live plans is out of date.

When did Booth AI shut down?

Neither Booth AI nor Y Combinator publishes a date. Third-party tool directories report mid-2024 and contradict each other, giving 26 July 2024 and 5 August 2024. The verifiable fact is the current state of the domain and the acquired status on YC's directory.

What did Booth AI do?

It generated lifestyle product photography from a reference image of the product plus a text prompt, so e-commerce brands could produce scene-based imagery without a studio, a shoot or a physical sample. It was founded in 2022 in San Francisco and went through Y Combinator's Winter 2023 batch.

Is Graflio a direct replacement for Booth AI?

Only for part of it. Graflio composites your real product photo into scenes and builds Amazon gallery images around researched claims, with callouts, dimension diagrams and comparison charts. It is not a general brand photography tool, so for campaign imagery or a lookbook a photography-first generator is the closer match.

Can I recover images I made in Booth AI?

Almost certainly not, if you did not download them. The product is no longer served from its domain and there is no published export route. Treat it as a reason to download finished assets from any tool on the day you approve them.
